Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking a Fixed Income Trade Floor Support Analyst.


Brief overview of the business areas


HSBC is building a support model and team to be able to deliver a tier one support option to clients for their Summit installations.

Fixed Income (FI) IT are responsible for developing a world class platform for our Fixed Income products, which include credit, rates and emerging markets.

The global team is predominantly located alongside the global trading and settlement systems “hubbed” in Paris, London, New York and Hong Kong – with further resource provided out of India.

The key focus of the role is to provide intra-day support to FI trading desks covering the range of applications and systems used for trading, reporting and risk and PnL.


What you will be doing;

The London based Analyst will take responsibility for supporting HSBC's trading applications, working closely with global support and application teams in order to deliver a tier one support service. The Analyst will be responsible for providing support to the FI trading desks during London hours as well as undertaking some after hours and weekend work; notably concerning releases and post change verifications.

The role will involve being first point of contact for trading regarding functional and technical aspects of the trading systems used by the fixed income desks as well as working closely with support and application teams across the regions to be able to efficiently support the FI trading platforms.

You will be expected to be the first line in dealing with queries from the trade floor regarding system experience and be able to triage requests and incidents across multiple teams within HSBC.

Scope of the role should also cover;

Provide technical and function support to the FI trading desk in relation to their usage of trading applications.

Manage incidents and outages on aspects of trading systems ensuring clear status updates are provided to business and IT management.

·
Work closely with application teams at HSBC in order to ensure changes are well reviewed and planned in order to limit the potential disruption to the business.

·
Working with application teams to ensure that supportability of systems are always included within releases.

·
Ensuring “clean” days for the London trading systems.

·
Available for the support rota overnight, week-ends & Bank Holidays.

·
Carry-out root cause analysis for production incidents.

·
To capture or provide visibility to incidents including undertaking post incident reviews where required,

·
Follow defined standard release procedures into production environment

·
Working with infrastructure groups to ensure that the service is managed across the entire application.

The rapidly changing landscape of the Fixed Income business requires a flexible production support group to be able to move at the same rate of change that the business requires.

Qualifications :

What you will bring to the role;

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

·  Experience of working in a high-pressure investment banking environment.
· 
Experience of facing off to Flow and Structured Rates Trading, Finance, Risk and Product Control business users

· 
Knowledge of a range of the following products Bonds, Futures, Bond Options, FRA's, Cap/Floor, Swaps, Swaption, Loans & Deposits, Non-Vanilla Options, Listed Options , Deal Payments, CDS, FX Spot FX FWD, FX Swap

· 
Experience of supporting trading systems.

· 
Good working knowledge of Unix (including scripting), Windows, Sybase, Oracle and SQL language

· 
Understanding of investment bank front and back office process flows, including those from upstream and downstream systems.

·  Understanding of investment bank exposure to regulatory controls
· 
Knowledge of service management and service delivery processes, including development of service level agreements.

· 
Sound technical to business understanding

· 
Experience of implementation of support tools and processes

· 
Gain leverage from experience of other organisations' support process to ensure that HSBC have a best of breed support group

· 
Significant experience of global production support within an investment banking environment with exposure to both front office flows.
