Markets Operations is responsible for driving every part of the trade lifecycle post execution. Its global teams manage settlement activity, risk and control, while ensuring the delivery of regulatory compliance and seamless operational client service across 60 countries.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Fixed Income Securities Operations .
Principal responsibilities
· Manage the daily regulatory Margin Requirements for Uncleared Derivatives operations and responsible for the new setup when the clients onboard and ensure all initial margin instructions to various triparty agents are settled on time and all potential fails or failed trades are followed up promptly.
· Approve all the depot bonds realignment and ensure all depot or custodians have sufficient securities for settlement and margin coverage.
· Monitor the funding requirement of the above markets and arrange fund transfer between settlement accounts with Funding team as per markets cut off time avoiding any overdraft.
· To co ordinate with New Issue team, the issuing and paying agent and business in new issuing settlement.
· Provide support to business with regards to new business, products and client request.

Requirements
· Experience of Settlement function and a good understanding of trade life cycle and settlement end to end flow for fixed income products.
· Good communication skills in both English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
· Maintain a high level of accuracy and be vigilant when validating the settlement instructions and authorizing payments. The candidate also needs to have high control awareness and be flexible in handling exception in case of system problems. A high degree of judgment is required in handling non routine or irregular issues. Instant response and quick decisions are perpetually required to meet deadlines. As the global settlement activities stretch across all different settlement systems, the candidate must get himself familiarized with operations of the different systems.
· To cope with the rapidly changing environment, the candidate must keep himself up to date for the skill and knowledge of the securities industry and be conversant with the special market practices, rules and regulations in order to comply with and avoid any breaching of the regulations.
· The candidate needs to rigorously enforce dual control in Settlements area and put in place the appropriate level of segregation of duties in processing settlement capability within the authorized limits.
· The candidate needs to ensure all trading activities need to adhere to and comply with the Securities Ordinance as well as the Rules and Regulations of Securities and Futures Commission.
· The candidate must have a clear understanding of the market regulations and have to ensure that any irregularities are reported to the manager. If necessary, the candidate should further clarify with Compliance before processing, to avoid breaching of the regulations.
The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
