The Financial Crime Compliance Quality Assurance Assistant Manager role is based within HSBC's Commericial Banking Finanical Crime Compliance Team.

The role of the Financial Crime Compliance Quality Assurance Assistant Manager is to provide quality assure advice given to the Commercial Banking business unit by the business as usual (BAU) team on finanical crime risks and to provide approval for the onboarding of the Bank's highest risk customers.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Quality assuring the FCC team's reviews and sign-offs of the bank's highest risk customers (Special Category Customers) including PEPs and provide the necessary feedback.
· Quality assuring the FCC team's managing of queries from the front-office and stakeholders on Anti Money Laundering (AML), Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) and other related matters and provide the necessary feedback.
· Quality assuring the FCC team's exception reviews and provide the necessary feedback.
· Quality assuring the FCC team's reviews of PEP alerts and negative news and facts referrals and provide the necessary feedback.
· Quality assuring the FCC team's Global Trade and Receivables Finance referrals and Global Liquidity and Cash Management new product approvals and deals and provide the necessary feedback.

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

·  Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Financial Crime Compliance/AML advisory.
·  Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Financial Crime Analyst/AML advisory/client onboarding.
·  Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Commercial Banking is desirable but not essential.
·  Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Financial Services is desirable but not essential.
·  Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Within a quality assurance based role is desirable but not essential.
·  Role relevant qualifications, i.e. AML/Financial Crime Qualification is desirable but not essential.
·  Previous experience of delivering an excellent customer service.
·  An open, flexible and supportive approach to change and innovation.
·  Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered.
·  Contributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals.
·  Experience of making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes.
·  A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes.

The base location for this role is Birmingham.

We are required by the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 to create a ring-fenced bank in the UK by 1 January 2019. Entirely new from the ground up, HSBC UK's head office is opening in Birmingham. The location of this role will move to our new state of the art offices at 2 Arena Central during 2018.
