Job description
The Financial Crime Compliance, Advisory Assistant Manager role is based within the UK Financial Crime Compliance team in Global Banking and Markets. This is an advisory role.
The role of the Financial Crime Compliance, Advisory Assistant Manager is to provide advise and guidance to the business and support other stakeholders with implementing FCC policies and controls. A good understanding of the AML regualtory requirements in the UK, knowledge of the JMLSG and industry standards. Knowledge of different products within investment banking.
Your responsibilities will include:
Responding to requests from the business and middle office functions
Identifying risks and appropriately escalating where required
Building relationships with both Banking Relationship Managers and different Market areas as well as with other sstakeholders
Helping to imbed a compliance culture in HSBC
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of AML, Sanctions, Bribery & corruption, reputational risk and banking product knowledge
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Financial Crime Compliance
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Investment Banking or Corporate Banking
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Financial Crime Compliance
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Investment Banking product/business knowledge e.g Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets etc is desirable but not essential
Role relevant qualifications, i.e.
ICA Diploma in AML or Financial Crime is desirable but not essential
Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. Microsoft programmes is desirable but not essential
A flexible and adaptable approach to change and will support others to respond in a similar way
Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
Self awareness with confidence to work independently and take responsibility for own development
Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
Experience of planning and prioritising their own time effectively, aware of their responsibilities and committed to delivering these efficiently
Promoted and led best practice in risk and compliance management in a similar organisation
The base location for this role is London, 8 Canada Square
