Global Finance

Global Finance aims to provide HSBC with a professional, effective and responsive finance service that operates at optimal cost and employs a common and transparent global model.

We are now inviting qualified individuals to join this team in the role of  Finance Manager (Accounting and Control) .

Principal Responsibilities

·  Monitoring and managing the performance of the group finance system, which includes data maintenance and operation of Group/ local financial systems, system enhancement and implementation, complying with Group standard and IFRS.
·  Coordinating, supporting and collaborating with local, regional and Group Finance on Finance system enhancements to deliver Group/ IFRS/ local regulatory requirement from controls and system perspective.
·  Day to day monitoring and exercising controls over balance sheet and other financial related exceptions.
·  Constantly reviewing new Group requirement guidelines on financial controls, performing gap analysis and implementing/ enhancing control procedures.
·  Identifying and developing the digitalisation solutions in Finance system as well as implementing measures to streamline Finance operational processes.
·  Leading, mentoring and developing Finance staff to enhance operational efficiency via process and system streamlining initiatives.
·  Collaborating with stakeholders to addressing complex operational and accounting issues encountered to resolve financial controls and balance sheet exceptions. 

Requirements

Principal Requirements

·  Minimum with Degree qualification. Possessing 3 to 5 years of related knowledge and practical experience in a financial control environment will be additional advantage.
·  A good understanding and appreciation of banking products, international accounting standards and accounting practices.
·  Strong independent contributor who is comfortable working in a self-directed mode.
·  Effective communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, including experience in presenting, influencing and maintaining strong working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
·  Proficient in Microsoft Excel; and resilient and adaptable with system technical experience; Possessing the knowledge of Python/ Xceptor/ Qliksense applications will be additional advantage.
·  Possess strong analytical ability to understand and address requirements from Business or regulators impacting Finance.
·  Firm leadership capabilities of navigating, aspiring, driving, mobilising and sustaining, in line with HSBC values of open, connected and dependable.
