Director, Securities Services Sales – Institutional Clients

Our products and services include advisory, financing, prime services, research and analysis, securities services, trading and sales and transaction banking.
Within GBM, HSBC Market & Securities Services (MSS) works with corporate and institutional clients and we have a specialist team that sell a wide range of Securities Services (SSv) platform solutions. We are currently seeking a professional to join our Institutional Sales team as a Director level individual contributor position.
Role overview: Individual Contributor role responsible for driving new business growth from primarily very large clients across Asset Owners & Managers, Sovereign Wealth Funds and Insurance Funds. The role will be external client and market facing but with strong internal interaction with other sales and client functions and product teams including senior stakeholders within HSBC Securities Services and the wider Bank.
The role holder will also ensure the HSBC values are present in everything they do, both individually and as an organisation. Whilst the main HSBC office is located in London the role will involve regular travel for client meetings – this will be predominantly around London however there is likely to be occasional National & European requirements. 
In this role you will:

·  Close sales opportunities in order to achieve agreed revenue targets from existing & new Securities Services clients or potential ‘New to Bank clients’.
·  Build a pipeline of prospect opportunities and manage the deal processes & frameworks of key client sectors and geographies to enable the achievement of the sales growth strategy for MSS SSv
·  Oversee the request for proposal/information responses for prospective deals that meet pre-agreed criteria (new and existing clients) and deliver sales presentations.
·  Co-ordinate deal teams and less senior members of the team to assist with more strategic, complex or technical orientated proposals
·  Collaborate with internal teams and other global functions to co-ordinate the development and promotion of SSv solutions.
·  Host thought leadership events, conference attendance, panel participation, whitepapers, media, hospitality, and other means of external marketing.

Requirements

To be successful you should meet the following requirements:

·  Possess the sales experience and credentials that will allow you to close large & complex deals and achieve targets.
·  Have deep knowledge of SSv solutions gained from having a strong understanding of financial markets and products including traditional asset classes and alternative products.
·  Hold a thorough understanding of the internal structures of Intuitional clients, specifically Asset Managers & Owners, Sovereign Wealth Funds or Insurance Funds.
·  Be a superior communicator, able to confidently engender credibility and gravitas and become a trusted advisor to your stakeholders of C-Suite level decision makers.
·  Demonstrate a high commercial aptitude with the ability to seek out the relevant and beneficial information involved in large and complex contractual negotiations.
