The Direct Cost Business Partner, RBWM Europe role is based within Finance.

The role of the Direct Cost Business Partner, RBWM Europe is to:

· Lead business finance partner for management of Direct Cost Base across Europe
· Ensure adherence to RBWM global cost management framework
· Provide financial and operating support to RBWM Europe executives on cost matters
· Utilise globally consistent management information and reporting framework, providing key financial and non-financial information to business to support achievement of RBWM strategy
· Support strategic cost management activities ensuring cost targets are achieved and appropriate level of rigour is applied to achieve sustainable cost save targets

Your responsibilities will include:

· Deputy for Regional Head of costs on all strategic cost matters - proactive in analysing the cost base across all Europe markets and brands and recommending optimisation opportunities
· Support for all key cost governance meetings, ie Regional RBWM Exco, HBEU Exco, BPRs, Global RBWM Exco
· Takes ownership for major ‘ad-hoc' cost projects. e.g. product profitability, cost framework, branch cost allocation
· Ensure adherence to Global RBWM cost management framework and supports finance control process for key issues - e.g. consultancy, variable pay, pay review, FSCS
· Provide monthly forecast updates for Europe cost and FTE. Production of the annual AOP
· Responsible for standard MI ownership (pack 1.3) and to ensure use in key markets and governance forums
· Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
· Support the Regional Cost Business Finance team's performance, engagement and overall development
· Develop business finance capability and resourcing as appropriate to ensure the business is adequately supported by Business Finance
· Identify, transfer and foster sharing of best practice across countries and regions
· Stay abreast of all financially-related, internal and external market-wide initiatives that affect RBWM. Provide appropriate updates and briefing as necessary and applicable
· Implement and validate non-financial metrics used in external reporting
· Drive the agenda for improved cost reporting to meet the strategic needs of the business
· Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which one is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

·  Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Banking/ finance
·  Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Banking/ finance
·  Role relevant qualifications, i.e. CIMA, Aca, acca
·  Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Yes
·  Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
·  Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
·  Experience of planning and prioritising their own time effectively, aware of their responsibilities and committed to delivering these efficiently
·  Used their business knowledge and understanding of customer needs to successfully manage and grow customer relationships

The base location for this role is Birmingham, 120 Edmund Street
