Job description

The Digital Planning Analyst role is based within HSBC Digital Solutions (HDS), Retail Banking & Wealth Management (RBWM).

The role of the Digital Planning Analyst is to identify and allocate resources to support digital project delivery, reporting status and highlighting shortfalls for all initiatives which are to be delivered on the Digital Channels.

The jobholder will be proficient at gathering the necessary data to build accurate forecasts, scope project size and priority and will allocate appropriate resources to ensure digital features are delivered to market within cost plans and meeting expected live dates.

Additionally the jobholder is accountable for taking the data gathered by the team and would use this to analyse, validate and action activities and reporting which underpin HDS recharging, budget and headcount management and process improvements.

HDS is a community of digital professionals delivering the digital change agenda for HSBC globally. The teams within HDS include Designers, Analysts and Testers who work alongside delivery partners in local markets, Transformation and Software Delivery to deliver changes and enhancements to Public Websites, Transactional Banking and Mobile/Tablet. From defining ‘best in class' services to performing customer readiness testing, they manage the entire digital project lifecycle. The team's goal is to delight customers with functionally rich Digital channels and a great customer experience.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Managing team budgets (e.g. travel / consultancy / temporary staff / training / incentives), supporting Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and latest budget estimates submissions
· Reviewing project requests, gathering data and enabling resources as required
· Ensuring accurate recharging and communication to stakeholders
· Producing monthly and weekly delivery reports and resource profiles by team

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
·  Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Project Management, Planning, Resource Coordination
·  Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. Microsoft Office, including Excel
·  Availability to work the shift pattern required for this role, i.e. some flexibility outside of core business hours may be required to allow for interaction with colleagues in other global locations (Asia/Americas)
·  Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. occasional travel between Leeds and London
·  Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of digital platforms is desirable but not essential
·  Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Digital change, IT, project or operations management is desirable but not essential
·  Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. Resourcing and planning tools e.g. Clarity or equivalent is desirable but not essential
·  A flexible and adaptable approach to change and will support others to respond in a similar way
·  Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
·  Contributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals
·  Planned projects and activities systematically in line with business priorities, using a variety of analysis and problem solving techniques
·  A broad understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting
·  Business knowledge and understanding of customer needs to successfully manage and grow customer relationships
·  Planning and organisational skills,
·  Ability to work on individual projects and as part of a team
·  Excellent numerical and analytical skills as well as an attention to detail

The base location for this role is Southwark, London or Stourton, Leeds.
