DevOps Red Hat Engineer

Job description

The Infrastructure Enterprise Services job is responsible for leading in building and running enterprise services that enable the functioning of Technology teams, Products and Services across the bank.

· Provide Enterprise Services, including platform services (mainframes, UNIX and Linux servers, iSeries (Mid-range), Windows and storage) for securely storing/analyzing data as well as Developer Services which enable faster delivery of highly standardized platform services, for example, Virtualization, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), Dev Engineering, Group System Development Environment (GSDE), and Cloud.
· Drive the implementation of DevOps and Disciplined Agile to efficiently deliver products and services across the teams.
· Setup automation Team(s) to increase efficiency and reduce time spent undertaking tasks
· Work closely with business and Technology stakeholders to design, deliver and operate business services that utilize appropriate infrastructure technology solutions such that they are efficient, cost optimal and highly resilient.
· Consolidate and reduce infrastructure complexity
· Develop Cloud based infrastructure platforms and deliver infrastructure, platform etc. “as a Service” by working with Business & other DevOps teams
· Determine the strategic direction and execute in each of the Technology areas under Enterprise Services responsibility
· Risk and Cost Management
· Ensure Service Quality Targets are met for offered platform services
· Business stakeholder management to define product roadmaps and keep other areas of HSBC informed about the Technological infrastructure capabilities available
· Write development code, understand a DevOps Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipeline, and build automated test scripts (for infrastructure products and upgrades), and build automation interfaces between systems
· Provide provisioning service for new infrastructure environments to development teams

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  Bachelor's degree and 4-5 or more years of experience as enterprise systems engineer
·  Strong knowledge of Linux Red Hat and SUSE Linux and Solaris preferred, including VMware, Virtual Center skills, and Operating System Security
· 
Basic understanding of Fire Wall concepts and rules, DNS, routing, and related troubleshooting

· 
Basic understanding of Web, Middleware, database technologies

· 
Basic understanding of Agile methodology
