Key Objectives for DevOps Engineer :
As a DevOps Engineer at HSBC, you will have an exciting opportunity to implement changes in the way the bank operates and help prepare for upcoming financial regulations such as IBOR and FRTB. You will be a key player in the onboarding of new technologies and have the ability work cross-functionally to build strong relationships with leaders across the bank to deliver changes to their teams. You will also gain experience working as a project manager, responsible for coordination of activities pertaining to the broader project delivery for the Canadian fixed income business.

Preference will be given to students who are available for an 8-month work term (January ? August), however those available for a 4-month work term will be taken into consideration. Please indicate your availability in your cover letter.
Principle Accountabilities:
· Work with the head architect to onboard the entire Canadian batch onto a new valuation system in preparation for FRTB. Create & test new jobs as needed.
· Build strong relationships with various teams across the bank (including Front Office, Operations, Finance, IT, and Product Control) & work with them to verify testing results.
· Play a key role in the onboarding of global strategic architecture into Canada
· Implement changes into pricing models to prepare for the transition to IBOR used in the valuation of Interest Rate Derivatives. Work with the trade floor to ensure pricing under the new models is correct.
· Prepare clear documentation in relation to the changes made throughout the work term.
· Manage projects in an Agile environemnt, tracking progress using Jira & Confluence

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications:

· You're comfortable working in a team environment & under pressure with challenging deadlines
· You have strong problem solving and analytical skills
· You have an interest in the Financial markets and an understanding of how Fixed Income products are priced/valued.
· You have experience working worth various technologies & languages (including C++, shell scripting, Linux, SQL, Summit, etc.)
· You have prior experience working in Finance or other quantitative fields & delivering change.
