We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Customer Due Diligence Independent Quality Assurance and Control.
 
Principal Responsibilities
Approve due diligence performed by Know Your Customers (KYC) analyst for all requests raised to Global Banking and Markets (GBM) onboarding;
Quality Control checks on KYC / Customer Due Diligence (CDD) process;
Ensure internal / external KYC requirements are adhered to;
Evaluate and escalate common policy deficiencies identified during quality checking;
Evaluate impact of new regulatory / internal requirements and provide timely feedback;
Reduce KYC request turn-around time by maintaining high quality standards in KYC Profiles and documentations;
Ensure KYC Profiles presenting to RMs are error-free for timely sign off;
Communicate effectively to stakeholders for any item raised from case checking;
Lead team in completing ad hoc projects;
Assist KYC Analyst when in need of policy training and education;
Act as supervisor and provide advice to KYC analyst on regulatory / internal requirements;
Provide support to new KYC analyst;
Provide support to KYC analyst on new regulatory / internal requirements;
Identify any key risk area and escalate to management;
Support Line Manager to perform broader responsibilities;
Gather and analyse KYC information independently;
Ensure accurate Management Information reporting;
Critical thinking on process enhancement;
Identify KYC issues, provide solution or escalate to management if necessary;
Act as approver / supervisor to the KYC analyst and ensure high quality standards are maintained with timely and effective feedback to KYC analyst;
Approve due diligence performed by KYC analyst / KYC Quality Control (QC) for all requests raised to GBM onboarding;
Act as immediate KYC analyst’s supervisor for query on regulatory / internal requirements.

Desired profile

Requirements
University graduate with at least five years of relevant working experience in a KYC / Anti-Money Laundering (AML) job and a total of at least five to ten years of working experience in a global bank;
Investment banking knowledge / experience is preferred;
Team leadership experience is preferred;
Familiar with the AML / KYC regulatory requirements;
Thorough understanding of legal structures of various client types: financial institutions, corporate, funds, Special Purpose Vehicle's etc. (Investment Banking knowledge / experience is an advantage);
Must be detail-conscious and able to work independently under pressure;
Strong analytical skills with a strong attention to detail;
Excellent communication skills and problem solving abilities;
Proficient in computer skills, including Word, Excel and the use of Internet Search Engines;
Proficiency in spoken and written English
