Role Title: CTLA Securitisation Modelling Analyst

Business: Global Banking and Markets

New or Existing Role: New

Grade: GCB5

Role Purpose

· To provide analytical support for and complete the modelling of the assets, liabilities and cash-flows on a wide spectrum of securitisation transactions (auto, consumer, student, mortgage and real estate securitised loans). While the role will be focused on ABS/MBS waterfall payment structures, there will also be exposure to CDO/CLO transactions, asset-level modelling and conventional bond payment mechanics. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic analytics & modelling team nested within a rapidly expanding Corporate Trust & Loan Agency business. The jobholder will primarily be responsible for assisting with migration of the existing securitisation modelling portfolio, as well as setting up cash-flow models for newly on-boarded transactions where the CTLA business has been mandated. The role also involves providing general analytical support to a number of teams across the CTLA business.

Key Accountabilities

Management of Risk

· Minimise operational, reputational and financial risk as measured through operational risk assessments, audit standards and operational losses.

· Is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.

· Review of Credit Ratings and/or any related event that can impact the client

Observation of Internal Controls

· Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

· Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.

· Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory, legal and Group requirements.

Seeked profile

Qualifications :

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

·  Experience in Corporate Trust (or similar) business
·  Understanding of structured finance & securitisation products (ABS/MBS/CDO)
·  Strong Excel modelling skills
·  SQL/VBA/database experience (advantageous but not essential)
·  Exceptional attention to detail
·  Highly numerate with analytical mind-set
·  Experience in document interpretation
·  Ability to demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving
·  Ability to learn new concepts quickly and independently
·  Ability to work both collaboratively & autonomously
