Role Purpose
· Administrating on all aspects of notes issued through role as Common Depositary /Common Service Provider/Common Safe keeper. Daily filing/removal of global notes into/from the Vault ensuring accuracy of records is maintained in accordance with CASS regulations. Ensure key reporting is carried out and all regulatory impacts considered. Assist in maintenance of ICSD client relationship, be aware of drivers on our scorecards and work to improve our positioning. Ensuring that all work is processed in accordance with the established and documented procedures governing the CD/CSP/CSK business. Managing projects that impact our CASS responsibilities around the holding of physical Global Notes within the Vault. The role involves daily liaison with various teams in the Global Service Centre in India.
Key Accountabilities
Impact on Business
· Provide operational support and assistance to the Common Depositary, New Issues, Rate Fix teams in the Global Service Centre in Malaysia.
· Ensure all new issuances are represented accurately in paper form and that the vault where they are stored is maintained to a high level of accuracy
· Ensure all reporting is carried out to high level of accuracy including shortfall assessment and checks on third party registrars
· Remain aware and of risk impact in relation to role and ensure compliance to procedures and CASS
· Improve processes and controls through suggestions and awareness of risk impacts
· Ensure that all activities are completed in a timely and cost effective manner, ensuring that time critical deadlines are achieved
· Support the Manager, Common Depositary and ICSD Relationship Manager in managing the day to day work for the team.
· Establish and maintain operational relationships with peer group client contacts and London CSMs/TMs to ensure strong and efficient processes and open, honest dialogue.
Role Dimensions
· Common Depositary portfolio size is approximately US $ 450bn.
· Paying Agency portfolio size if approximately US $ 500bn
· Custody portfolio size of approximately US $ 100bn
· Circa 11,000 Global notes held in custody in our vault on behalf of Euroclear and Clearstream to whom we act as CD/CSK with approximate value of US $450bn.

· Is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations
· Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory, legal and Group requirements.
· Demonstrate CASS understanding
Observation of Internal Controls
· Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
· Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
· Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory, legal and Group requirements.

Qualifications :
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
· 2 year minimum experience in the Corporate Trust business (preferably Common Depositary/Corporate Actions) required.
· Knowledge of capital markets products and processes desirable.
· Strong communication & client service skills required to build and enhance client relationships.
· Ability to multi-task and manage frequently changing priorities.
· Knowledge of SWIFT including MT535, MT536, MT54x, MT564 & MT566 messages relating to the securities markets.
· Ability to work accurately and effectively with minimum supervision.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team supporting colleagues where required.
