The role holder's principal accountability would be to design and execute internal and external communications plans to support business activities, in line with HSBC policies. Communications team would support internal communications for employees as well as external communications for a variety of audiences.

The role would report to a senior communications professional, though may also report to Business or Project managers when supporting particular campaigns.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:

The job will involve some or all of the following tasks:

• Using insight and engagement of stakeholders in determining communication needs

• Designing communications plans to support business activities and strategies

• Participating in communication campaigns and projects to support business activities and strategies

• Creating engaging content in line with HSBC values and ensure alignment with Global policies

• Ensuring effective communication of HSBC priorities, company purpose and business activities to diverse audiences

• Executing communications strategies internally and externally

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

3 years+ working experience in public relations, internal communications or staff engagement.

Excellent speaking, writing and editing skills in Mandarin and English.

Experience in building and maintaining media and public relationships to generate required media coverage is a plus.

A good instinct for reputation and issues management, and the composure to put that instinct to use. Good understanding of the interplay of reputational, legal and governmental concerns.

Sound judgement and an ability to serve as a strategic partner - suggesting new ideas, accepting and implementing feedback, and advising stakeholders on best practices.

Comfortable working with senior leaders and executives from a variety of cultures.

Attention to details, responsible and strong work ethic.

Outgoing, self-starting, ability to multi-task, get-it-done attitude. People trust you – and they enjoy working with you.
