Job description

The Citrix Infrastructure Engineer role sits within the Desktop Virtualisation Team within HSBC's IT organisation and reports to the Head of EMEA Desktop Virtualisation.

The Desktop Virtualisation Team is responsible for design, management, day-to-day support and governance of all desktop virtualisation technologies within HSBC.

This primarily covers Citrix technologies (including, but not limited to, Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix NetScaler), as well as its supporting technologies.

The Desktop Virtualisation domain is large and complex and covers implementations of varying degrees across 26 countries, with users connecting from anywhere within HSBC. The role will be a member of the UK based team for the desktop virtualisation technologies and a technical specialist across the global team.

This role presents an opportunity to be actively involved in implementing one of the largest Citrix Virtual Desktop estates (150,000+ virtual desktop machine, and XenApp estates globally, as well as working with a variety of DV technologies

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing technical expertise and guidance to the global desktop virtualisation global team and key stakeholders regarding desktop virtualisation infrastructure.

Designing, developing and implementing desktop virtualisation infrastructure

·
Implementing client-side project requirements on desktop virtualisation infrastructure

·
Ensuring as a team we utilise product efficiently and maximise our investment in virtualisation technologies.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:

·  Extensive experience of Citrix technologies – specifically XenApp and XenDesktop
·  Demonstrable experience of Windows Server and Windows Desktop infrastructure
·  Ability to translate business and IT Security functional requirements into relevant and compliant solutions

In addition to the details listed above, it is desirable that the ideal candidate will demonstrate:

·  Experience of desktop virtualisation within large scale enterprise environments
·  Ability to lead IT to Business Stakeholder communication
·  Ability to work with Global teams and understand regional group requirements
·  Awareness of current and emerging technologies in End User Computing sector

The base location of this role will be Sheffield.
