Job description
The Chief Solution Architect for ADM Channels will lead the technical architecture of the HSBC distribution channel systems, working closely with the Business, Product Management and the technical leads and foster the integration of the channels systems into the supporting HSBC systems.
The HSBC distribution Channels span Internet Browser, Mobile, Tablet, Staff systems that transact for Customers, Branch, Call Center and ATM systems.
The Chief Solutions Architect will serve as a consultant to the Business on technical direction, provide insight and direction to future trends, and provide design guidance to the global development teams.
This role needs a strong individual contributor that can also manage a small global team of architects providing direction, guidance to the engineering teams working in an Agile environment.
This role will have a reporting line to the Global Head of Channels Architecture. Frequent travel can be expected to work closely with the Business and with the global development centers. To extend current capabilities to work with the business on detailed design of Business needs and work and consult on the art of the possible with our current technology landscape.

Responsible for;
The role holder provides architecture support/guidance across a mixture of Group and local systems which are key to the success of the Business strategy.
The role holder leads the design and development of architectures that are aligned with Group standards, IT and business strategy, that meet business objectives and satisfy all regulatory and operational risk controls.
The role holder need to collaborate with regional and global teams within Business, SwD and CD to ensure the Business technology strategy is progressed and where necessary update.
The role holder also contributes to the development of Group standards, and identifies and implements new practices, processes and technologies through collaboration with Group Architecture.
Support Channels busness partners (RBWM) in definition and execution of business strategic planning ensuring effective steering of investment
Establish and maintain relationship between business and IT
Communicate short, medium and long term architecture in a business context to ensure relevant and addressing the business need

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
Strong knowledge of architecture and its processes with primary focus on Digital technologies
Communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for IT investments and alternatives in the language of business;
Strong leadership and management ability, motivating IT employees to not settle for the status quo
Understand and interpret complex business and IT requirements
Good business sense
- adept at understanding how to communicate and position in a tactful and non-aggressive way
Strong self motivation and belief in value of architecture to steer business investment
Cost focused
Ability to work across cultures
Broad technical knowledge across various hardware, software and network platforms
