Background
Successful candidate will for part of a new HSBC Securities Services (HSS) IT Markit EDM team, as part of Global Banking & Markets. This team will support a number of critical business lines and systems, specifically – the Funds Services Trade Processing programme, Funds Services Data Provision, and Global Custody Data Management.
Funds Services Trade Processing programme – Markit EDM provides trade orchestration and validation services. It supports a global business as part of a strategic, multi-year programme enabling outsourcing of our clients back and middle office to a wide range of clients in Europe and Asia. Funds Services Data Provision programme – Markit EDM provides data consolidation, enrichment and distribution back to clients, both for client's operational and regulatory reporting. It supports a global business as part of a strategic, multi-year programme enabling outsourcing of our clients back and middle office to a wide range of clients in Europe and Asia. Global Custody Securities Market Data Management programme – Markit EDM provides global platform in master securities and custody data management to cover all Custodian operations process. Multi-year investment to build the strategic core data hub capability to create and maintain all securities, entities, reference and pricing.
Principal Accountabilities
· Provide technical development expertise to convert business requirements into appropriate technical solutions
· Plan, manage, develop and deploy work into existing production installations
· 3rd Line Support of existing estate
· Maintenance and Support of existing hardware and software
· The role requires some facing off to the business based in UK, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo, and Hong Kong
Essential Experience, Skills and Qualifications
· Expertise in Markit EDM (CADIS) application, ETL concepts and processes.
· Expert knowledge on porters, constructors, inspectors, data matchers, process launchers, UI Workflows and Elements and Console Groups.
· Expertise in writing of SQL Queries, Stored Procedures, functions, views, analytical functions.
· Experience in entity relationship modelling, Performance Optimization of Queries, Ability to debug, analyse and optimize SQL queries
· Middleware technology like MQ, database interface
· Experience in PowerShell scripting
· Experience in scheduling tools like Control M
· Experience in Build Management tools like team city and some experience in continuous integration.
· Nice to have functional Knowledge of Funds, Trade Lifecycle, Custody, Settlement, Workflow system
· Demonstrable ability to gather requirements, analyse, question and produce technical documentation
· Knowledge of the SDLC and different development models
· Rigorous self-controlled approach to development
· Excellent communication skills and ability to work with people at all levels in the business
· Self-motivator, able to work alone but also able to understand when to ask for help
Management of Risk
Responsible for the continual assessment of operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology.
