Role Purpose
The role holder is responsible for the development, implementation, and promulgation and testing of HBONs Business Continuity and Incident management (BCIM) plans. With specialist skills, this position ensures effective Business Continuity and Incident Management by coordinating and implementing business impact analysis, risk mitigation, plan development and effective emergency responses.
The position holder has to ensure that HSBC Bank Oman (HBON's) contingency response planning strategies are effective in the event these are required to be invoked and are aligned with Regional and Local regulatory standards and requirements. Support Manager BCIM and ensures strengthening of HBON's BCIM infrastructure with support from Oman Senior Management. Ensures implementation of Group BCIM projects, tools and best practices within Oman.
Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas
Impact on the Business

Review and analyse Business Continuity plans, policies and practices, and escalate concerns, problems and issues to Manager BCIM, and Oman Senior Management for endorsement and decision making.
·
Formulate and coordinate completion of the mandatory BCIM activities and ensure the deliverables are completed on-time in close liaison with all countrywide Customer Groups.

Manage testing regimes for critical services and products and facilitate BC exercises.
Customers / Stakeholders
·
Primarily accountable and responsible to guide and facilitate BCIM activities within Oman.
·
Development of seamless BCIM framework for entire HBON operations
·
Scoping, designing and implementing customised BCIM solutions to ensure our response against specific and situational crisis scenarios is effective.
·
Efficient communication of BCIM measures and strategy.
·
Be a focal point for escalation of any BCIM related issues in HBON
·
Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
Leadership & Teamwork
·
Maintain a sound working environment within HBON and promote an environment of open communication.
·
Develop rapport with key Industry and Regulatory contacts as well as with Oman Customer Groups and regional counterparties.
·
Raise Business Continuity awareness within the Bank through training and information sessions.
Role Context:
Management of the Business Continuity and Incident Management program in Oman is the key responsibility for this role.
· Meeting Regulatory and Group Standards for BCIM
·
Ensuring that all Businesses and Functions in HBON have BC plans in place
·
Maintaining critical recovery resource planning information
·
Maintaining key elements of the Bank's BCIM infrastructure
·
Ensuring BCIM exercises are held annually under challenging scenarios
·
Maintaining key Bank BCIM plans, manuals and guidelines
·
Coordinating and managing response to a real disaster
·
Implementing Oman's testing and annual review schedules
·
Keeping Senior Management abreast of BCIM issues through periodic meetings and briefing sessions
·
Business Continuity (BC) coordinators have to be prepared, trained and managed for undertaking BCIM related activities.

Basic IT Knowledge.
