Working within the Group Functions IT – Finance and ERP Data team, the Business Analyst will work across a number of Data Program deliveries such as the completion of BCBS239 and Phase 2 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As other data initiatives come into the bank the Group Functions IT Data team is the team that performs initial impact analysis, costing and ultimately delivers the change within the Group Functions organization.

The role will also support rolling out the adoption and implementation of the Decision Driven Design (DDD) and Agile Control Framework (ACF). This would normally involve taking on responsibility for a specific service line in Group Functions IT – Finance and ERP and the adoption of DDD and ACF within that Service Line.

The role will involve working with the Data Management Utility (DMU) and supporting the Risk and Finance CDO in ensuring that Data Management principles and standards are baked into Group Functions IT Service Line deliveries.

There is also an opportunity to support the design and development of common components required to support the migration of key Finance activities to Google Cloud Platform including requirements analysis, data analysis and target operating model design.

The team also creates and supports Reference Architectures, Theoretical Tooling Proof of Concept, Physical Tooling Proof of Concept, Requirement Pipeline management, solution & data integration design and Big Data Infrastructure and License and Cost Model development

We also work closely with the Group Data Architecture community to help deliver the Group Data Strategy within the Group Functions IT – Finance and ERP area.

Job responsibilities include:

Collect and Refine requirements from Group Functions IT – Finance and ERP Service Lines for Big Data Requirements, Tooling, Masking and Visualization Requirements.

Generation of Data Lineage documentation to support BCBS239 principles and other support activities

·
Ensuring documentation of Data Quality principles within the Distributed Consumer Contracts (DCC)

·
Progression of Phase 2 GDPR work items necessary for CFIT and HSBC's adherence and compliance to the regulation, including progression of IT Assessment Questionnaires, Consent Use Case development, RoP definition and sign off progression, Compliance Road map monitoring, impact analysis of new GDPR requirements

Impact assessment of new Data Regulations (GDPR emulation regulations)

·
Refinement and iteration of the DDD and ACF process, Control Stories and encouragement of adoption and understanding within the wider Group Functions IT – Finance and ERP team

·
Impact Analysis for CFIT against the Group Reference and Customer Data Strategies

·
Definition of Operating Model to support Finance migration to GCP

·
Support and assistance, requirement definition and elicitation to enable the GCP common component designs

·
Support the Cyber Security Management Issue Programme (CS MIP) [Crown Jewel Programme]

·
Assistance and support to ensuring that EIM is updated to facilitate EADL lineage

Solid verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, and business/IT partner interaction skills. In particular, a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate Data Management related topics to non-technical and technical parties

A strong appreciation of the importance of Data Management in the Enterprise

Proactive approach and a self starter – not afraid to ask questions

Minimum of 2 years of data related experience with a financial services firm

· 
Minimum of Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a major or minor in Computer Science, Finance or related fields

Business Analyst Qualifications – i.e. ISEB, BABOK
