The Compliance Assurance sub-function is responsible for assurance activities across first and second lines of defence in relation to financial crime and regulatory compliance risk in all Global Businesses, functions and geographies to meet the Group's regulatory obligations and to provide assurance to key stakeholders and the HSBC Board on the effectiveness of key controls which serve to mitigate compliance risk.
We are currently seeking an individual to join this team in the role of Automation & Analytics Analyst Apprentice
The base location for this role is Birmingham
The Automation & Analytics team forms part of the Compliance Assurance Professional Practices (CAPP) function. Within this Apprenticeship role, you will:
· support the development and implementation of automated testing tools relevant to our key Compliance risks and in accordance with Compliance Assurance global test scripts; and
· support Compliance Assurance review teams through the delivery of review based analytics.
Our remit is to support the Compliance Assurance division through:
· driving the adoption of analytics within Compliance Assurance reviews;
· working in partnership with Compliance Assurance review teams, utilising analytics to bring new insights into our assurance activities;
· developing automated, scalable and repeatable ‘self-service' testing tools for Compliance Assurance; and
· supporting the implementation of automated tools to enhance the consistency, efficiency and effectiveness of assurance conducted by Compliance Assurance.

Desired profile
Qualifications :
· Minimum 96 UCAS points at A level or equivalent
· Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics
Skills and qualities
· Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
· A desire to learn and work at pace with changing priorities
· Being highly proactive and effectively managing your own time
· Being an effective networker with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
· Experience of the work place, which can also include through volunteering or work experience
