Job description
To assist the Regional Head of Reputational Risk and Client Selection Secretariat (RRCSS) in ensuring efficient decision-making and execution of decisions around GBM client on-boarding, monitoring, transactions and exits with respect to two regions, North America (NAM) and Latin America (LAM).
Manage and align inputs from frontline team, FCC, product Build the Case Coordinators for client reviews for consideration by the two Regional Reputational Risk & Client Selection Committees (RRCSC) as well as Global Corresponding Bank RRCSC (CB RRCSC), where there is a submission originating from NAM or LAM.
Support the Regional Head of RRCSS and Reputational Risk Manager(s) in ensuring that subject matter expert input is obtained to produce succinct yet comprehensive transaction review proposals.
Ensure operational integrity and compliance with all related policies and procedures.
Support the Regional Head of RRCSS and Reputational Risk Manger(s) in the preparation and presentation of training materials in relation as part of induction for new jointers as well as any required ad hoc “refresher” training of existing GBM staff and other key stakeholders.
Support the Regional Head of RRCSS and Reputational Risk Manger(s) in the correlation and preparation of information in response to ad hoc regulatory, Compliance Monitoring and Assurance Testing (CMAT), and Internal Audit (IA) requests.

Support the RRCSC process when appropriate in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure business acceptance and client exit management is implemented in a timely, orderly and structured manner such that the bank is safeguarded against potential reputational, operational or legal risk.
Customers / Stakeholders
Build relationships with key product and GB individuals regionally and at all levels to ensure decisions and exits are effectively and completely undertaken in a comprehensive and timely manner.
Handle logistical aspects of RRCSC meetings to ensure these achieve quorum and run smoothly.
Leadership & Teamwork
Be a team player and build relationships with the wider RRCSS, product coordinator and GBM Risk teams.
Communicate clearly and consistently to all parts of the business, ensuring actions are aligned to messages.
Execute role with a level of autonomy while being mindful of when to seek guidance and approval.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
Ensure operational integrity and compliance with relevant policies and procedures, including but not limited to RRCSS Desk Instruction Manuals and other procedural guidelines provided by the Global team, covering on-line and manual processes.
Produce accurate management information covering regional client and transaction cases for both recurring and ad hoc reporting requirements as specified by the Global team, in a timely manner.
Present RRCS training materials as part of GBM induction as well as for ad hoc “refresher” training sessions as required.
Coordination of submissions for the Regional and Global CB RRCSC.
Prepare agendas and take minutes for Regional RRCSC.
Contribute to continuous process and technology enhancement, by providing feedback on process improvements and regional input on business requirements for technology when sought, support process change implementations at the regional level and ensuring any points requiring clarity are immediately escalated to the Global team.
To implement the Group compliance policy locally by containing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Global Business Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources and training, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.

Major Challenges
Ensuring that reviews are structured to articulate clearly the risks that a client presents, how that client meets risk appetite (or otherwise) and the controls and mitigants that are in place (or need to be put in place).
Engagement with a range of internal stakeholder s (e.g front line staff, risk and product representatives) on reputational risk and client selection matters relating to (region to be inserted) region for GBM.
Role Context
The RRCSS team supports two global and five regional RRCSCs and operates in four locations: London (Global, Corresponding Banking and HBEU teams), Hong Kong (Asia Pacific), New York (North America and Latin America) and Dubai (MENA).
The secretariat is responsible for building the cases for submission to RRCSCs in consultation with relevant parties, submitting these to the regional RRCSC for decision-making, taking the minutes at RRCSCs, circulating the approved minutes to relevant parties and generating management information.
RRCSS is responsible for implementing the GBM customer selection and exit management (CSEM) policy in line with an agreed framework which is intended to ensure timely and auditable decision-making that can effectively and efficiently manage risk and economic exits with clear governance, monitoring and escalation. On the exit management front, RRCSS works very closely with GRBs and product Exit Execution Coordinators, orchestrating key activities related to winding down client relationships.

Desired profile
The job holder will be a financial services professional with knowledge and experience of managing reputational, financial crime and/or credit risk and/or commercial client relationships.
The job holder must have:
High level understanding of all types of reputational and financial crime risk.
Familiarity with the majority of financial services products (Global Markets, Payments and Cash Management, Securities Services, Trade and Lending).
Be able to work with various stakeholders to manage decisions, appeals and execution phases of the reputational risk and client selection process.
An understanding of the commercial considerations of business relationships combined with the ability to manage risk effectively and thoroughly in those client relationships
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to build rapport and strong relationships across business areas and globally dispersed locations.
Strong understanding of operational controls.
Strong organization/planning skills and robust attention to detail.
Ability to remain effective under pressure.
Be comfortable escalating decisions where appropriate.
