Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
 
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Vice President, Retail Credit Services, 12 months' contract.
 
Principal responsibilities
To support the Bank’s prudent credit culture by maintaining a high credit standard and strong asset quality
To exercise consistent and fair evaluation of credit facilities by delivering a balanced decision keeping in view the prevailing business directions and strategy
Ensure compliance with approved credit guidelines, policies, internal and external regulations in assessment of applications and reviews
Work out restructure plan for customers who are unable to pay down existing outstanding balances
Meet and strive to exceed service level agreement with all business partners to exceed business partners’ expectations.

Desired profile

Requirements
A degree holder with few years of relevant experience
Ability to balance between risk and return to compete aggressively but efficiently and to grow our market share in the personal banking industry
Ability to make independent judgement based on assigned delegated limits
Strong understanding of risks and opportunities that arises from this fast changing business environment to deliver quality risk evaluation that incorporates lending against acceptable risks
Excellent verbal and written skills
Some previous underwriting experience will be an advantage
Knowledge of retail banking products such as Mortgage, Credit Cards, Instalment Loans is an advantage 
This is a 12 months' contract role with HSBC.
