Job description

The Assistant Product Manager- Mortgages role is based within Customer Value Management, within the Mortgages product team.

The role of the Assistant Product Manager- Mortgages is to support all product functions required for the Successful implementation of Mortgage Products across both brands, whilst ensuring that the new products which are launched reach our customer base across all platforms with accurate data input.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Implementing Mortgage products and process across a variety of platforms
· Reviewing and enhancing mortgage policy and procedures
· Engaging with and building strong relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally
· Assisting in the development of product launches for both brands
· Subject matter expert on related projects
· Writing, gaining sign off and issuing communications

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

·  Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Residential and Buy to Let Mortgages is desirable but not essential
·  Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Mortgages/Network/Contact Centre/Intermediary is desirable but not essential
·  Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Mortgage Lending Industry or Intermediary Market is desirable but not essential
·  Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Product or Proposition Development is desirable but not essential
·  A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
·  A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
·  Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
·  Proven experience of leading others and creating an environment that supports and inspires people to develop and deliver
·  Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
·  Built effective networks both internally and externally and created opportunities for others to work collaboratively
·  A track record of making strategic business decisions, considering relevant risks, long term implications, commercial realities and stakeholders'' needs
·  Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
·  A successful track record of delivering complex projects and/or programmes, utilising appropriate techniques and tools to ensure and measure success
·  A broad understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting
·  Experience of successfully structuring complex business lending deals, accounting for the associated risks and regulations
·  A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
·  Experience of building and managing complex relationships with significant customers
·  A track record of effectively handling complex sales, to meet the needs of demanding customers, in a fair and ethical way

In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will:
·  Have clear attention to detail who is able to spot and rectify any potential mistakes before implementation of mortgage products
·  Achieved targets and met expectations whilst supporting and encouraging others to do the same
·  Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
·  Supported project teams/managers, showing an understanding of the basic principles of project management

The base location for this role is Birmingham.

We are required by the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 to create a ring-fenced bank in the UK by 1 January 2019. Entirely new from the ground up, HSBC UK's head office is opening in Birmingham. The location of this role will move to our new state of the art offices at 2 Arena Central during 2018.
