Description

The Assistant Product Manager role is based within the Everyday Banking Product team within Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM).

The product team is part of the wider Everyday Banking (EB) team and is responsible for product and risk management of the book of c10m current account and savings customers. This includes responsibility for product oversight and governance, regulatory transformation, P&L management, as well as servicing journey and portfolio simplification. The team is also responsible for the day to day product management (e.g. queries from distribution colleagues).

The role of the Assistant Product Manager will be responsible for supporting delivery of the Profit & Loss (P&L) and product strategy through ensuring the smooth running of day to day product management. This includes delivery of small changes to the product and procedures, supporting the delivery of strategic and regulatory transformation projects, and product control and governance oversight.

The role holder will work closely with other Product and Propositions teams in HSBC, first direct and M&S Bank, in addition to the Digital, Marketing, Transformation, IT, Legal and Compliance areas. Ultimately, they will be the first point of contact for technical or product queries.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Product and technical SME
· Responsible for supporting implementation of complex strategic projects, driving enhanced, simplified journeys
· Responsible for day to day product management including responding to requests for information from distribution colleagues in a timely manner
· Implement and support the delivery of regulatory/legislative requirements
· Collaborate with other Product Managers, Legal, Compliance, Risk and IT for customer driven outcomes to regulatory or business change Assist in establishing and maintenance a comprehensive approach to conduct risk management, driven by rigorous product controls and sustained energy to improve consistency and service standards for current accountsx

Desired profile



Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
·  Past working experience in a relevant role, is desirable but not essential
·  Relevant product knowledge, in particular knowledge of current and savings accounts and associated services
·  Strong analytical skillset, including use of data and process analysis to drive customer and commercial insights and value
·  Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. UK Retail Banking is desirable but not essential
·  Strong communicator and influencer across a wide set of stakeholders, particularly, frontline colleagues, IT, Compliance and Legal
·  Highly organised with evidence of project management skills via project delivery
·  A good understanding of the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements associated with financial services and experience of working within these

The base location for this role is 1CS, Birmingham
