We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Assistant Product Manager – Banking and Proposition

Banking & Propositions (B&P) exists to:

· Create world class propositions, products and services that delight our customers and help UK RBWM achieve our shared ambition
· Deliver sustainable growth alongside a balanced approach to protecting customers and the bank through an effective risk management framework
· Drive innovative solutions that are market leading but at the same time simple, valued and personable.

The purpose of the role is to manage and develop products/propositions to achieve Annual Operating Plan, build beautiful customer journeys, and protect the business by adhering to regulatory and reputational responsibilities. Against a backdrop of delivering consistently good outcomes for customers whilst maximising commercial opportunities and minimising risk for the bank.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business, the role holder is required to role model customer- centricity, driving service excellence and offering products and services that meet customer needs.

In this role, you will:

· Support Product Managers and Senior Product Managers within the Everyday Banking team to maintain, develop and improve products and customer journeys within HSBC, first direct, M&S Bank and John Lewis Financial Services.
· Identify and assess commercial trends and issues, identifying solutions to improve performance and balance customer needs and help to achieve tactical and strategic objectives for the products
· Preparing product analyses and research for consideration.
· Prepare and support the promotion and communication of the product to the wider organisation.
· Be aware of related industry trends, distilling this knowledge and sharing with the wider team.
· Answer adhoc product queries and assist with complaints and monitoring.

Desired profile



Qualifications :

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

·  Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of HSBC UK / HSBC Channel Islands & IOM / first direct / M&S retail savings products is essential
·  Experience working in RBWM / B&P, or external Product experience is essential
·  Past working experience in Product Management / Financial Services is desired
·  Proven ability to deliver customer focused change in a way that balances commercial and regulatory considerations
·  Numerically literate with a proven record of taking complex data, commentating on what it highlights and using it to drive positive change to the benefit of the bank and customer.
·  Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. MS Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word is required. Experience of third party mortgage systems is desired

The base location for this role is Birmingham RFB Headquarters
