Assistant Manager Trade Middle Office, Global Trade & Receivables Finance

Global Trade and Receivables Finance comprises over 4,500 people across more than 60 countries, helping suppliers and buyers with their export and import finance needs. Trade is where HSBC began in 1865, when we financed commerce between Europe, North America and Asia. We are currently looking for an Assistant Manager Trade Middle Office to join our Manchester team.


Your responsibilities will include:
· Ensure the operational efficiency and cost effectiveness of the Business Services Centre/Department.
· React promptly to requests received from Global Trade and Receivables Finance (GTRF) Sales/Relationship managers and client services in respect of the processing of client transactions.
· Ensure our customers receive a quality service at all times.
· Promote and enhance HSBC's Trade & Guarantee capabilities.
· Provide technical advice and guidance to internal & external clients.
· Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the team to facilitate their enhanced learning and development
· Contribute to staff development.
· Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
· Ensure our customers receive a quality service at all times.
· Promote and enhance HSBC's Trade & Guarantee capabilities.
· Provide technical advice and guidance to internal & external clients.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:
·  Experience providing a specialist service for customers, internal and external who deal with International Trade in either importing, exporting or both.
·  Account reconciliation
·  Customer driven, Ability to work on your own with minimal supervision, Meet tight documented processing deadlines, Accuracy and attention to detail.
·  Trade knowledge is essential
·  Consistently achieved objectives set for them and taken action to improve their own performance
·  Self-awareness with confidence to work independently and take responsibility for own development
·  Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of sharing information effectively, in a clear, concise and professional manner
·  Contributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals
·  CDCS preferred

The base location of this role will be 4 Hardman Square, Manchester
