Global Finance
Global Finance aims to provide HSBC with a professional, effective and responsive finance service that operates at optimal cost and employs a common and transparent global model.
 
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.
 
In this role, you will:
 
- Ensure the accurate and timely submission of financial and management reporting to local front office/Regional Head Office (ASP PC and FIN) and the local regulators.
- Perform daily P&L analysis and control, Fair Value Adjustments, Day 1 P&L, reconciliation of trader P&L estimates to actual P&L, P&L attribution, Independent Price Verification, Own Credit Spread.
- Ensure accurate and efficient controls and accounting for all Global Markets (GM) transactions, in accordance with local and Group requirements.
- Support line manager to maintain a robust control framework which adapts to the constantly changing needs of the Global Markets business as well as ensuring compliance with the Valuation Control target operating model.
- Being the partner of new Global Markets Product proposals and new business initiatives by ensuring that appropriate infrastructure and controls are in place to support any changes in the business.
- Be responsible for other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Senior Valuation Control Manager and GM business team.

Desired profile

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
 
- Familiarity with Treasury products and market risk, including derivatives and structured products.
- A robust understanding of valuation techniques as they apply to Treasury products and the ability to review and analyze the valuation of derivative products.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word automated data retrieval from various databases, TM1
- Understanding of the Accounting and Valuation Control policies as they relate to Treasury products.
- Confident to deal with Global Markets traders and sales people in technical discussions related to valuation of financial products and capable of working under pressure
- Motivated to consistently perform and strive for continuous improvement
 
WORKING EXPERIENCE
- The ideal candidate would have an accounting qualification with 3 years of experience in Valuation Control or Treasury Finance covering a range of asset classes.
