We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team in the role of Assistant Manager Global Custody & Treasury Operations , working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
Principal Accountabilities
· Assist and backup line manager in coordinating and managing of the day-to-day transaction processing for unit trust funds, asset management mandate as well as insurance companies that revolve around domestic custody and global custody activities which include:
o trades settlement (equity, fixed income instruments, bonds, mutual funds, futures, swaps and other derivatives),
o deposits/money market placement activities,
o fund transfer/3 rd parties payments,
o foreign exchanges including spot, forward and overlay
o corporate action activities
· Managing all custodian accounts including regulatory reporting and handling transfer agency in relation to investors and agents accounts including issuance of trade confirmation, settlement as well as redemption payments.
· Assist and oversee the Business Support Group in administering day to day operation by
supporting , assisting and monitoring the work of subordinates;
· Handle all day-to-day transaction processing and manage issue on operational matter with counterparty, custodian, FI and clients.
· Handle approvals for high valued trades, FX, deposit/money market placement, payment transaction.
· Ensure that all activities are delivered within the agreed SLA/cut-off time.
· Update and be updated of market developments and industry best practices ;
· Maintains and provides value-add services by resolving issues, handling enquiries and keeping clients fully informed on the operational matters;
· To assist the line manager to monitor, develop and provide the necessary advice and guidance to his/her subordinate ;
· Backing up as mentor and constantly updating the team with knowledge of business & operational requirement as well as legislation & market changes.
· Maintain HSBC Internal Control Standards, implement & observe Group Compliance Policy and maintain awareness of operation risk & reputational risk;
· Ensure compliance are in accordance with all Group standards, FIMs etc
Desired profile
Qualifications :
Requirements
· A recognised diploma/advance diploma/degree with 1 to 3 years of experience in Banking/Custodian/Customer Service ;
· Good command in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
· Sound technical knowledge on trust deed, investment, accounting standards and the associated risk/complications relating the Capital Market & Securities Act, Guidelines on Unit Trust Schemes and guidelines on Pension Fund as well as Custodian requirements.
