The role holder will be part of the Equities business franchise under Market Securities Services Operations (MSSO) umbrella. The business covers products in the Equity Derivative space. The scope of the EQD Middle Office team in KL comprises middle office operations and includes the following activities.
Validate trades of Equity Derivatives Vanilla Products in terms of characteristics and modelling of pay-offs and managing its associated trade validation controls including management of life cycle events. This role requires frequent interactions with traders, sales, structurer and trading support. The balance sheet covers Paris business predominantly.

The Opportunity:
· You will be part of a task force responsible for managing post trade support activities such as intersystem break investigation, trade validations, resolve trade/settlement discrepancies and trade life cycle management The role will cover EQD businesses.
· The role will be working relevant shift hours i.e. HK/UK/Paris with a possibility for staggered work hours. There is no direct report for this role.
What you’ll do:
· Control and validation of the modifications made.
· Management of mismatch identified during booking and Term Sheet reconciliation.
· Control and validation of Life cycle of derivatives.
· Calculate cash flows on products (list above as a sample) and check bookings carried out by the Front Office.
· Intervene with the Front Office for outstanding and disputes communicated by the Back Office.
· Compliance with standard Front office booking procedures.
· Operational risk management and process security.
· Support for teams in New York and Hong-Kong.
· Monitoring of projects and continuous improvement of processes.
· Completion and review of daily checklists, open queries, manage email reception and resolution, management of number of pending deals.
· Perform T0 trade validation and controls.
· Production of MI – Daily/Weekly/Monthly.
Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
· Ability to identify areas of control and process weakness and take part in managing resolution and preventing reoccurrence.
· Assist the Business to remain compliant with Market Operations requirements and receive no audit point.
· Ensure that all controls are in place and promptly escalate when necessary.
· Zero audit point during the audit review.
· Always work in a good team spirit. Reliable and connected to other team members.
· Open with management during one to one and team meeting.
· Understanding of Markets Operations is an added advantage.
· Able to demonstrate the mind set and maturity to operate in a fast paced environment.
· Awareness and appreciation to operations risk and control and exception management.

· Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients/stakeholders.
· Attention to detail and a hands on approach to identify opportunities of process improvement.
· Follow formal escalation framework across all aspects of Operations, including day to day operational risks and systemic risks.
· Strong awareness and appreciation to operations risk and control and exception management.
· Strong communication skills with the ability to manage local and international relationships across the org.
What additional skills will be good to have?
· A degree in Business or Finance would be preferred.
· Understanding of Markets Operations is an added advantage.
· Able to work in a demanding and time sensitive environment.
· Hands on experience of operations processing is an advantage.
