The Company Secretarial global function (of 200+ FTEs) is led by the Group Company Secretary and reports directly to the Group Chairman. We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join the team in the role of Assistant Group Company Secretary.
This individual will support a Co-Head and the HSBC Bank Plc Company Secretary to deliver the Company Secretarial function.
Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting the HSBC Bank Plc Company Secretary with delivery of her governance responsibilities in the UK and Europe including in respect of the Group wide governance framework;
·
Supporting the Co-Head day to day including on various ad hoc projects and tasks;
·
Assist in the delivery of the HSBC Holdings Plc Annual General Meeting;
·
Organising and managing European Discussions Forums, Workshops and Townhalls;
·
Taking ownership of the corporate and business governance arrangements for subsidiary and other entity boards.
Desired profile
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

Good knowledge of the HSBC Group and/or a similar large and complex organisation;
·
Qualified company secretary, lawyer or other relevant professional qualification/ experience;
·
Strong knowledge of corporate governance principles, including driving high quality governance standards, via credible and practical experience;
·
Strong inter-personal, organisational, process management and verbal/ written skills including the maintenance and development of relationships with Directors;
·
Proven ability to work well with all levels of management, handle confidential and sensitive information, work independently and under pressure and handle multiple tasks;
·
Qualified company secretary, lawyer or other relevant professional qualification/ experience.
The base location for this role is 8 CS, London.
