Job description

The role of the API and Integration Architect is to ensure that the Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) Digital integration full stack works together seamlessly & efficiently from process & systems API's to HSBC Operating Services and Technologies (HOST) systems integration adapters.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Troubleshooting and escalating any organisational or technical blockers impacting API engineering delivery
· Enhancing the technical methods, standards, processes and tooling currently utilised by the API engineering teams around the Globe
· Identifying and developing continuous improvement initiatives to improve the productivity of the HSBC engineering teams and enhance the performance, scalability and operability of their API components
· Co-ordinating the rollout of the continuous improvement initiatives across the HSBC engineering team and monitoring their effectiveness post-implementation

Desired profile

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:
·  Strong experience as both a hands-on architect and a software engineer in the following domains:
·  Java EE including (Web Services, REST, JPA).
·  Database (SQL server/Oracle/MySQL/MongoDB/Cassandra)
·  Spring, OSGi
·  SOA, EDA, and Design patterns.
·  Javascript (ReactJS, AngularJS), HTML5, CSS3
·  Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in API management platforms and API related activities: requirement analysis, solution architecture and design, resource-based API modelling, micro-services architecture
·  Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in API security standards and
·  Proven track record of acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for API projects
·  A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
·  Proven experience of motivating others to deliver exceptional performance and long terms results
·  Proven experience of leading others and creating an environment that supports and inspires people to develop and deliver
·  Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively and winning over audiences with compelling and persuasive presentations
·  A successful track record of leading significant and complex business programmes, overcoming challenges to consistently meet/exceed objectives

The base location of this role will be Bluefin Building, London
