Markets Operations is responsible for driving every part of the trade lifecycle post execution. Its global teams manage settlement activity, risk and control, while ensuring the delivery of regulatory compliance and seamless operational client service across 60 countries.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Analyst, Fixed Income Securities .
Principal responsibilities
· Monitor the day to day MRUD operations to ensure Initial Margin settlement instructions to various triparty agents are sent and authorized in timely manner, instructions are matched on time and all potential fails or failed Initial Margin movements are followed up promptly.
· Monitor the depot holdings of the custodians and MRUD Longbox and arrange the securities movement between the custodians and Longbox to ensure there are sufficient securities for trades settlement and sufficient MRUD coverage.
· To investigate, follow up and resolve the breaks in the stock reconciliation of the custodians, Initial Margin accounts and Longbox.
· Liaise with Front Office, Overseas Office, local brokers, clearing agents and clients in resolving settlement problems.
· Provide support to Front Office for existing product and new product initiatives.
· Understand the clients' requirements in the trade settlement cycle and provide status updates to clients according to their requirements.

Requirements
· Experience of Settlement function and a good understanding of trade life cycle and settlement end to end flow for fixed income products.
· Maintain a high level of accuracy and be vigilant when validating the settlement instructions and authorizing payments.
· Have high control awareness and be flexible in handling exception in case of system problems.
· A high degree of judgment is required in handling non routine and irregular issues.
· Instant response and quick decisions are perpetually required to meet deadlines.
· Rigorously enforce dual control in Settlements area and put in place the appropriate level of segregation of duties in processing settlement capability within the authorized limits.
· Have a clear understanding of the market regulations and have to ensure that any irregularities are reported to the manager.
· Good communication skills in both English and Cantonese.
