HSBC's Financial Institutions Group is the client sector within Global Banking responsible for all aspects of the Group's relationships with financial institutions. The Group consists of five sub-sectors: banks and broker-dealers, insurance, public sector, asset managers and hedge funds
Our team comprises experienced senior bankers and product specialists, each chosen for their sector-specific expertise and knowledge of global financial markets
We provide a wide range of products and services to financial institutions globally, including transactional banking services, credit and lending, strategic advice and capital raising

Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible (in conjunction with colleagues) for the timely completion and production of the Bank team’s presentations (PowerPoint) & marketing materials
Oversight of onshore & offshore Credit Analytics processes as well as acting as liaison between the Front Office (Banking & Markets) and local Credit Risk Management teams (as required)
Ownership of the income forecasting & tracking framework (HORIS) and client development tool (ClientVision) for the Bank Sector Coverage Banking team
Analytics & research in support of idea generation for Senior Coverage Bankers on the team; including proactive coverage of emerging opportunities and threats
Act as primary person on the desk responsible for representing the Bank Sector Coverage Banking team on any KYC and or AML due diligence action points
In all capacities Analysts will work closely with peers and colleagues across the bank (New York and Globally); to ensure the Banks team delivers on its message of International/Global connectivity and service to our clients

Desired profile

Skills/Experience Required
A generalist Investment Banking/Corporate Finance background
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
A strong understanding of the financial markets
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
FINRA Series 79, 63 licenses required. Contingency may be granted solely at management's discretion. Licenses are required to discuss and sell investment with potential or existing customers.
