About HSBC Operations, Services & Technology (HOST)
HSBC Operations, Services and Technology provides essential operational services, IT and technical support to help HSBC function effectively and improve our customer service. HOST is made up of Global Operations, IT, COO Office, Corporate Real Estate and Global Procurement.
Global Operations is responsible for activities including:
· Managing the day-to-day transactions of our Retail Banking and Wealth Management business
· Running operations for our Commercial Banking business and supporting our Global Private Banking and Global Banking and Markets businesses to serve customers across their global networks
· Simplifying the way we run HSBC, introducing automation to reduce workload and costs and improve the experience of customers
· Helping to drive change for the bank's global businesses and functions, for the benefit of HSBC and our customers
A Day in the Life of a Analyst, Financial Crime Compliance Operations include the following:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Crime Compliance (‘FCC') Operations, the Analyst FCC Operations is an entry level role on the FCC Operations team.The role holder will provide day-to-day support to meet the objectives of the FCC Operations team through research, analysis, escalation and monitoring for less complex cases. The role holder completes assigned monitoring activities including name screening client and transaction monitoring.
Principle Accountabilities:
· Support the Sr Mgr FCC Operations and the regional Head of FCC & RC Operations in management of FCC related risks.
· Supporting regional AML and other FCC teams.
· Remain up to date with key business developments and regulatory and industry practices
· Participate in special compliance reviews, projects and training efforts, as required.
· Provide support to assigned areas on compliance-related issues, including documentation and form review for compliance with applicable regulations.
· Participate as a team player and able to work across teams as a contributor
· Contribute to the successful delivery of quality control
· Support the aims of the team and team manager
· Delivery of high standards of client service, at the same time ensuring that all internal (e.g. Risk) and external (e.g. Compliance) standards requirements are met in full, utilizing a combination of onshore and offshore resource managed as a single global team.
· Provide cover for other analysts
· Ensure that issues are escalated to Management where appropriate
· Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.
· Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.
· Review and analyze compliance monitoring reports and other related source documents for suspicious/unusual patterns of activity. Follow-up with responsible area for explanations and discussions for appropriate action.
· To discharge the accountabilities set out in the Compliance FIM by pro-actively assisting management in identifying and containing compliance risk, monitoring, reporting and certification, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.
· Undertake and complete training assigned to improve FCC Operation effectiveness
· Ensure that all employees are aware of and effectively identify and manage applicable money laundering (ML), terrorist financing (TF), sanctions and reputational risks.
· Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.
Desired profile
Qualifications :
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications:
· Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent experience. Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAM) accreditation certificate an asset.
· 1-3 years proven audit, compliance, financial services, operations and/or regulatory experience, or equivalent.
· Familiar with the following programs World Check, SCION, Client Connect
· Ability to remain effective under pressure, provide assessment and sound judgment
· Position requires a general understanding of Compliance, Financial Crime Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, AML, and Due Diligence
· Good interpersonal, organizational, communications, analytical skills.
· Understanding and knowledge of HSBC's activities, products, processes and systems would be preferred.
· Ability to adapt to changing work and demands
