Job description

The Analyst Developer role is based within HSBC's Financial Intelligence Units IT delivery area that is working on the strategic analytics platform that delivers value adding technology enablement to the global Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) analyst users.

The role of the Analyst Developer is to be an analyst/developer on the BAE (Detica) NetReveal platform covering the ETL, Builder, Scorer, database, and front-end aspects (Workbench, Visualizer) as well as version 7.x onwards of the NetReveal platform.

The key stakeholder's that the analyst/developer will be:
· IT Project Manager – The delivery owner for NetReveal within the project
· Business Analyst (representing the Business) for NetReveal
· Internal Project Members – For the analysis activities
· Other IT Projects – For the analysis activities
· Key IT Stakeholders (such as Release/Test/Infra) – For the analysis activities
The NetReveal analyst/developer will be responsible for the analysis of business requirements, design, development, testing, packaging for release, and level 3 support of production issues. The analyst/developer will sit within the NetReveal team and work with geographically distributed stakeholders.

The purpose of this role is to support the existing NetReveal platform, upgrade the platform (both Production and Test), develop new applications as directed by the business users, and improve the quality controls and efficiency/automation across a delivery. There are a number of dashboards in the portfolio therefore the developer needs to be able to multitask and self-manage their workload to a degree.

Your responsibilities will include:
· The NetReveal delivery process and designing/implementing NetReveal changes
· Documentation and JIRAs and testing the NetReveal solution
· Supporting release management in deployments and third line support
· Improvement activities. Taking ownership of the dashboards and being responsible for the quality of the deliverable
· Provide your skills and expertise to enhance the capabilities of the team, share knowledge and proactively help to drive the culture of sharing and support across the project team
· Willing to learn and help others develop across the team

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
· Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Min 2 years' experience in one or more of a BAE/Detica NetReveal platform
· Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. from a structured IT delivery methodology background
· Role relevant qualifications, i.e. Degree Education
· Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Documentation skills (this is a major requirement as documentation will be required)
· Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. At least two of the following: Java, SAS, JavaScript, SQL, Oracle DB, UNIX, UNIX Scripting, ControlM, Hadoop, Scala, C++
· Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. Occasional (at most once a quarter) travel to London
· Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. any other technical programming languages or toolsets such as (but not inclusive of) QlikView, Tableau, C++, C, web technologies is desirable but not essential
· A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
· Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
· Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
· Contributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals
· Planned projects and activities systematically in line with business priorities, using a variety of analysis and problem solving techniques
