Job description
The private placement business originates, structures, and executes fixed income transactions on behalf of issuers.
The analyst new hire will work on the private placements desk, assisting the team with daily responsibilities, executing transactions, and identifying opportunities across markets and currencies. Primary responsibilities include maintaining market databases, pitch preparation, assisting team members in the coverage of their client base, and organizational tasks. The analyst will interact as required with debt capital markets colleagues globally. The employee will be responsible for the following tasks
Primary Responsibilities
· Conduct detailed credit analyses, using both qualitative and quantitative factors, on unrated prospective private placement candidates and make credit rating recommendations based on the analyses.
· Prepare pitches with comparative credit statistics, ratio analysis as well as private placement market and economic updates
· Assist with issuer due diligence on mandated transactions
· Take responsibility for creating marketing documents
· Coordinate roadshow meetings with investors
· Assist with investor questions during marketing
· Prepare private placement updates to be sent to issuers
· Maintain internal database on transactions
· Perform critical administrative tasks for KYC, AML, etc.
Desired profile
· 1 – 3 years corporate finance or accounting experience, preferably with some credit training
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· PowerPoint, Word, and Excel proficiency
· Ability to read financial statements and do comparative financial ratio analysis
· Hard worker with a strong desire to learn and succeed; Strong multi-tasking skills and attention to detail
· Good communication skills
· Willingness and preparation to work extended hours on a regular basis
· FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses required. On an exception basis, a 120 day contingency period can be offered to obtain licensing, strictly at the manager's discretion.
