We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Analyst .

Principal Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated Analyst to join the Active Equity Research team, specializing  in Asian non-tech cyclicals, i.e. Energy, Materials (Petrochems) and other industrials. The role is Hong Kong-based and supports stakeholders across our Active Equity Investment platform which includes Chinese, Regional Asia, Global Emerging markets and Global Thematic strategies. 

·  Conduct in-depth analysis and research of the Asian non-tech cyclicals, identifying key trends, opportunities, and risks
·  Develop insightful reports and presentations to support investment decisions
·  Monitor news, earnings releases, and other relevant information to stay informed about developments in assigned sectors
·  Generate and present well-founded investment ideas to portfolio managers, supported by rigorous research analysis and senior analysts’ mentorship
·  Track and evaluate the performance of investment recommendations
·  Assist in any equity related queries from any client accounts and participate in client liaison and marketing work as required
·  Foster and develop a professional and collegial working relationship with the related investment teams
·  Work effectively within the team-based analyst framework

Requirements

·  A minimum of 2 years of experience in equity research or a related field is preferred
·  Demonstrated proficiency in financial modelling, strong analytical skills, solid understanding of financial statements, and attention to detail are required for this role
·  Capable of quickly picking up coverage and identifying investment thesis (key drivers, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment) across different sectors. Previous work experience in sell-side research is a plus
·  Work closely with portfolio managers, analysts, and other team members globally, across the HSBC Active Equity platform to share insights and contribute to the overall investment debate. Participate in team meetings providing input and expertise where appropriate
·  Demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to identifying suitable investment opportunities for multiple portfolio management teams across the Active Equity platform
·  Given the large proportion of Chinese companies in the Asian investment universe, fluency in Mandarin is a requirement
·  A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow within the role
