The AMLi Assistant Manager CI&IOM role is based within The Channel Islands and Isle of Man Compliance Team.
The role of the Anti-Money Laundering (AMLi Assistant Manager Channel Islands and Isle of Man (CI&IOM) is to support the AML Reporting & Analysis team in gathering and consolidating risk information from x-Regions, Functions, Line of Business (LoBs).
Your responsibilities will include:
· Investigations:
· Ensure appropriate pro-active use of media reports and relevant websites to gather intelligence and identify customers of HSBC involved in crime, Money Laundering (ML), terrorism etc.
· Produce a high quality case file including a comprehensive narrative and recommendation as to whether or not a suspicious activity report (SAR) requires onward disclosure to the relevant authorities in accordance with procedural standards.
· Responsible for the collation of documents for all Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR's) and Production, Court orders prior to validation and submission to the authorities whilst complying to the strict time constraints
· Responsible for advice and guidance relating to policies and procedures to prevent and detect money laundering and terrorist financing AML & Counter Terrorism Financing (CTF) in accordance with legislation and HSBC Money Laundering Policy & Principles (MLPP's) and Group Policy and Principles (GPP's).
· Fostering of good relations with all the relevant Financial Crime Risk Authorities both internal and external
· Completion of Security and Compliance Data Matching (SCDM) alerts in relation to the Jersey Crime categories
· Financial Crime Risk Training and feedback to be provided as and when necessary to the business: Channel Islands Head of Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), Jersey FCC Deputy Head, Jersey FCC Global Private Bank (GPB) Manager, Jersey FCC Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) Manager, Jersey FCC GBM Manager, Jersey FCC Sanctions Manager, Head of HSBC Expat, Head of Global Asset Management Jersey, Head of Private Bank (PB) & HSBC Trustee (C.I.) Limited (HTCI), Regional Commercial Director, HSBC Bank plc - UK Bank / Retail bank (HBEU), Area Director, CI&IOM, HBEU, Senior Wealth Service Delivery Manager, Global Compliance Colleagues, Regulatory Compliance & Channel Island & Isle of Man Monitoring

· Apply AML policies, procedures, practices and standards to their allocated tasks, taking responsibility for their own actions, to ensure the achievement of high levels of quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance

Qualifications :
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
· Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Asset Management Jersey (AMJE), HBEU, HSBC Bank International Limited (HBIB), HFAJ, HSBC Funds Nominee (Jersey) Limited (HFNJ), Private Banking Channel Islands (PBCI) and HSBC Trustee (C.I.) Limited (HTCI) operate internationally in a number of highly regulated markets, including the UK. The Channel Islands and Isle of Man business is high profile and considered to be inherently high risk due to the size and nature of the transactions undertaken. Accordingly the Financial Crime Risk controls and processes must be of a high standard to ensure the reputation of HSBC is not tainted.
· Experience working in relevant environments, i.e. experience in FCC or equivalent environment; relevant work experience which allows role holder to have the ability to recognize suspicious financial activities
· Experience working in relevant market, context
· Each legal entity has their own legal responsibilities, however all employees have personal responsibility for the prevention and detection of money laundering and counter terrorist financing.
· The primary responsibility of the job holder is for Jersey while co-ordinating with Guernsey and the Isle of Man, overseas offices and Global Service Centre providing them with clear and concise advice, guidance and technical assistance.
· Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Experience in undertaking investigations, analysis to customer activity with the ability to draw inferences from the information
· Experience in compilation of reports and, or SARs reporting experience
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Good communicator with strong inter-personal skills. Experience of sharing information in a clear concise manner.
· Role relevant qualifications, i.e. an internationally recognized qualification in Anti-Money Laundering or Compliance, or willingness to work towards obtaining this. is desirable but not essential
· A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
· Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
· Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
· Experience of making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
· Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business, operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
· A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own, others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
The base location for this role is HSBC House, Jersey
