Financial Crime Risk aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of AML Investigations Analyst
In this role, you will:
· Process Money Laundering Suspicious Activity Reports, including Consent issues, to assist in the achievement of the Department’s objectives which are primarily to fulfil the internal and external reporting requirements under the terms of the Money Laundering Regulations and the proceeds of Crime Act for all HSBC operations in the UK.
· Ensure compliance with Repeat SARs process.
· Perform a quality review of Suspicious Activity Reports

Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
· Broad experience of how the different financial circumstances of customers are reflected in their account activity and the ability from that experience to recognise when activity is suspicious rather than unusual or in keeping.
· Compitentcy in use of Bank IT systems and Product knowledge.
· Excellent English/report writing skills
· Investigative skills
· Ability to make a reasoned judgement from all the facts available as to whether activity on an account warrants suspicion of criminal activity.
