Job description
The ideal candidate will have a technical background in supporting and developing applications for large scale systems.
The person must be able to work in a team and demonstrate the ability to follow standard processes.
Functions of the role will include:
Production of technical specifications from functional specifications.
Productions of unit test specifications.
Coding from technical specifications
Execution of test specifications.
Participation in work product reviews
Supporting system and user acceptance test phases.
Desired profile
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience in development for Pensions Computer System, or another DWP VME Benefit System is mandatory.
More than 2 years’ experience development using VME COBOL and SCL
Experience on one or more full release project life cycles.
Good understanding of testing tools and unit and integration test scripting, and testing methodologies.
Able to apply consistently quality and security standards.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
The role is to work within a team developing a variety of application systems.
The hours of work are flexible with core hours typically between 9:30 and 4:00.
Clearance to baseline (BPSS) level is mandatory. This will be arranged for any person not currently Security Cleared.
