We are looking to hire highly motivated Computer Science graduates for various opportunities as Software Engineers in Cambridge, MA to join the HP Big Data, Vertica Engineering team.
A little about us:
Vertica is a leading big-data database that routinely handles petabytes of data, processing tens of terabytes throughput-per-hour on commodity hardware. Vertica Systems was founded by MIT professor and big-data guru Michael Stonebreaker and continues to maintain a strong and productive relationship with academia.
Since its inception, Vertica has grown and expanded past the core RDBMS space. The core engineering team collaborative and innovative. We deal with bleeding edge problems, come up with industry-leading solutions, and have fun doing it.
Desired profile
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field plus some experience in a similar position
· Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related academic field.
· PhD, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related academic field
Knowledge and Skills
Basics: User Interface development
Languages: Java and Spring, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, HTML5, SQL
Technical Areas: develop middleware software and front-end cross-browser applications
Special skills: Understanding of user experience and application servers
