Overview:
 
This is a VME Remediation Live Support technical role, which will begin with some development exposure whilst the Middleware VMEr program ramps up. You will then follow the Middleware remediated service through the life cycle and bring it into AMS.

Analyse and resolve new incidents to documented standards within agreed timeframes.
Responsible for providing technical support in the creation and delivery of technology solutions designed to meet customers’ business needs and, consequently, for understanding customers’ businesses.
Provide documented workarounds for repeat incidents for Application Support to handle repeat incidents
Provide problem statements in clear and concise business terms to enable client impacting and problem progression.
Create and maintain effective customer relationships so as to insure customer satisfaction.
Design, develop and implement problem fixes within agreed timescales.
 
The ideal candidate will have a technical background in supporting applications for large scale systems and have a strong Tuxedo work history. The person must be able to work in a team and demonstrate the ability to follow ITIL processes.  Good problem solving skills are required with the ability to analyse and determine root cause in a methodical way.

The role is to work within a team supporting a variety of application systems.  The hours of work are flexible to suit the client’s requirements, with core hours typically between 8:00am and 4:00pm.
Clearance to BPSS level is mandatory. This will be arranged for any person not currently Security Cleared.

An understanding of modern SCM (software configuration management).

Good verbal and written communication skills
