Job description
At HP, we take support seriously. We make sure we understand our customer’s problem and fix it with the least possible impact in the shortest possible time. If necessary we first reproduce the problem in our labs and test the fixes before implementation in a production environment. For this HP has built several enterprise grade labs, the size of small to medium datacenters. These labs are packed with servers, networks and storage for this purpose.
One important lab in Europe is based in Diegem, nearby Brussels, specialized in enterprise storage and servers. This high tech lab with fifteen years of enterprise support experience It is used by about 30 teams with members from all over the globe.
In an effort to support our customers even better by further reducing the time to reproduce a problem, we’ll:
Upgrade the network
Redesign the SAN
Consolidate servers (virtualization)
Retire servers no longer supported, and install new generation equipment
Automate deployment of test setups (cloud and normal)
Desired profile
As an HP intern, your tasks will be
To collect the necessary data and make a report of current design.
In tight collaboration with related (Network, SAN, server, storage) experts you will then make a proposal for a new design achievable within budget and allowable downtime.
You will help build and deploy the automated deployment tool. It is also your responsibility to build a setup allowing lab users to deploy their machines without local help by training (CBT, WBT, ), documentation and coaching.
Identify roadblocks for first time lab users and craft suggestions on how lifting them.
Lower the barriers for users to make use of equipment they have not touched before yet.
Work with the global labs on integrating with the regional labs
