Description
As part of the HPS group the Central Server Integration (CSI) team is responsible for developing test strategies for increased schedule and quality predictability, test automation for continuous integration with high repetition, and simulating and testing customer environments.
 
Responsibilities
The planning, development, and implementation of procedures for the testing and evaluation of current and next generation ProLiant DL and Blade server products in the CSI organization.
Determination of new Test tool requirements based on new technology requirements and development of tools (assembly and C programming skills) and scripts.
Perform test failure reproduction in local lab; setup, execution, debug. Working with off-shore test engineers and local developers to facilitate issue resolution.
Utilizing in-depth understanding of platforms, peripherals, and software to develop and maintain test processes, test strategies, and test cases for HP HPS products
Representing the test organization interests in interaction with development and program core teams
Growing knowledge and expertise with the development of new leading edge technologies
Recommend purchase of test equipment and infrastructure
Successful candidates will be able to:
Create test strategies for newly developed HP solutions (platforms, peripherals, software) that encompass requirements, scope, and schedule based on Product Development Guides, Engineering Functional and System specifications and Program Core Team input
Create solution test plans in a test management tool (Quality Center)
Design and develop test plans using HP and Industry Standard test tools
Create risk management plans with triggers that are tied to contingencies to reduce risk and impact scope, schedule, cost and quality
Represent the organization in Engineering Program Team meetings and Test Status meetings
Work closely with peers and cross functional program team members
Work closely with test project manager to drive test execution to test engineers located around the world
Support remote test execution, troubleshooting, and issue debugging

Desired profile

Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
8  years of relevant industry experience in an enterprise hardware/software test organization or aster's degree and a minimum of 4-6 years experience.
Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment
Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills
Ability to elicit cooperation from senior management and other departments

Experience and desire to develop low level test tools in assembly language and C.

Hands on experience with Linux (Red Hat, SLES), Windows Server, and VMWare.

Experience with Virtual Connect technology
Must possess a very solid understanding of testing methodologies
Assembly language and C programming experience
