Job description

The Deal Analyst draws together elements of competitive and market intelligence, understanding client requirements, technical solutioning, cost structures, and pricing methodologies to help HP develop a compelling customer proposition, negotiate, and close new business. As such, the Deal Analyst is a key team member on pursuits, leading the team in determining the customer business case, facilitating an understanding of the price to win, advising sales on pricing strategy, providing guidance and review of costing and pricing across the whole team, and promoting a customer centric view on financial and commercial points.  
 
The Deal Analyst role carries the following responsibilities:
Use of competitive intelligence, customer budget analysis, and knowledge of IT services pricing to help set winning price and commercial objectives for sales pursuits
Drive pursuit teams towards technical solutions, and cost structures that deliver these objectives
Develop pricing methodologies and commercial sales strategies that differentiate HP from the competition and compel our clients to choose HP as their IT partner
Develop client facing financial deliverables on sales pursuits
Client-facing work as part of our negotiation teams to sign new business
Assist in developing and qualifying new opportunities, provide sales team coaching, and be a source of thought leadership and best practices on pursuits

Desired profile

Candidates should have either an IT background with demonstrated business acumen, or financial background gained in the IT industry and with a strong IT capabilities. Ideally, candidates should have been involved in winning outsourcing contracts, or advising clients in the procurement of these contracts.  Specific experience should include:
Business case development & presentation
Market pricing / benchmarking and competitive analysis
Cost analysis and review with a good understanding of the solution cost levers / metrics in one of ITO, Applications maintenance and development, or BPO
Price & Commercial Negotiation
Working with 3rd Party Intermediaries
Candidates should also possess the following attributes:
Ability to lead business decisions
Excellent communicator and influencer
Demonstrates conviction in recommendations
Financial acumen
Excel modelling skills
Analytical and detail oriented, but able to retain view of the bigger picture
Common Sense
Fluency in a European language in addition to English would be well regarded.
