The Role:

Working as the Home Delivery Financial Analyst you will provide all aspects of financial support to the Home Delivery Operation. The role is very broad and provides a good mix of management accounts and commercial analysis.

As a Financial Analyst your main responsibilities include:

Support the management team in their decision making process by providing accurate information, professional advice and interpretation/analysis of data.
Review performance and challenge our 3PLs (3rd Party Logistics Partners) to achieve better cost performance without impacting customer service; understand how operational costs flex with volume, to ensure that costs are managed through busy and quiet periods accordingly.
Responsible for producing high quality, robust month end accounts and associated management reports including weekly outturns, explanation of results and balance sheet reconciliations.
Play an integral role in producing, evaluating and challenging budgets/forecasts within demanding timescales.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs.
Complete ad-hoc analysis as required e.g. capital investment appraisals.
Build strong working relationships across the Home Delivery operation (including our 3PLs) and the wider Sainsbury’s Argos finance community.
Deputise for the Home Delivery Analysis Manager as required.

As a Financial Analyst your skills & experience will include:

Graduate calibre qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
Proven analytical and commercial acumen.
Well developed inter-personal skills and confident in influencing stakeholders.
Strong well rounded Excel skills.
Ability to prioritise workload and manage expectations accordingly.
Possess strong system skills preferably including Essbase.
