The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Property Operations Supervisor / Engineering Team Leader to join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever.  

  

Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.

Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You

Picture yourself brightening someone’s day. When you join our Hotels team, that’s exactly what you’ll do every time you come to work! You will support the Chief Engineer / Assistant Chief Engineer in ensuring the smooth operation of all HOTSOS functions. As a  Property Operations Supervisor / Team Leader , you’re not just overseeing the daily operations of HOTSOS system maintenance and repairs – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

 

Here’s what you’ll do during a typical day:

Leadership & Department Oversight

·  Supervise the day-to-day operation of the HOT SOS department. 
·  Lead, coach, mentor, and develop HOT SOS Team Members to deliver exceptional guest service. 
·  Create schedules, monitor staffing levels, and ensure appropriate coverage based on business demands. 
·  Conduct performance evaluations, coaching conversations, and corrective action when necessary. 
·  Facilitate onboarding and ongoing training to ensure consistency in service standards and system knowledge. 
·  Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture. 

Guest Service & Service Recovery

·  Monitor all guest requests and service recovery cases through the HOT SOS platform. 
·  Ensure timely resolution of guest concerns while maintaining luxury hospitality standards. 
·  Escalate critical guest issues to operational leaders when appropriate. 
·  Follow up on service recovery opportunities to ensure complete guest satisfaction. 
·  Maintain communication with operational departments regarding outstanding guest requests. 

Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement

·  Analyze HOT SOS data, trends, response times, completion rates, and guest feedback to identify operational opportunities. 
·  Produce daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for leadership. 
·  Identify recurring service issues and recommend process improvements. 
·  Develop measurable action plans based on operational data. 
·  Monitor departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and communicate results to department leaders. 
·  Evaluate workflow efficiencies and implement best practices to improve service delivery. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

·  Partner with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Security, Spa, Recreation, Retail, and other departments to improve service execution. 
·  Participate in operational meetings and present performance metrics and improvement opportunities. 
·  Assist department leaders in identifying root causes of recurring guest issues. 
·  Promote accountability across departments for response times and service quality. 
·  Support resort initiatives focused on guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. 

Operational Excellence

·  Ensure HOT SOS standards, procedures, and documentation are consistently followed. 
·  Monitor system accuracy and ensure requests are properly documented and closed. 
·  Assist with implementation of new technologies, workflows, and service initiatives. 
·  Maintain confidentiality of guest information and operational data. 
·  Perform additional duties as assigned.
