About the hotel

Curio Collection by Hilton is a global set of remarkable upper upscale hotels handpicked for their unique character and personality; each one a part of the fabric of the city it calls home. Lost Property is the seventh Curio Collection hotel opened in London.

Located on Ludgate Hill, just on the corner of St Paul’s cathedral, one of the most iconic London landmarks, Lost Property hotel has 145 bedrooms, a restaurant and bar called Found, a coffee house called Tattle, and a gym.

Our Found restaurant has been nominated for the World Culinary Awards in the Best New Restaurant category and shortlisted for the Best F&B Marketing Campaign at HMA, Hotel Marketing Awards. The hotel has also won Boutique Hotel of the Year in London title at the Travel & Hospitality Awards 2024.


About the role

You’ll provide day-to-day leadership and direction to maximize financial returns through revenue generation and productivity to ensure increased levels of customer satisfaction in the hotel. You'll direct the activities of Front of House, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Kitchen and F&B departments to ensure the achievement of established quality and guest service standard and departmental revenue and profit goals. Act as a support function to overall hotel operations.

Adhere to governmental regulations concerning the hotel’s emergency procedures, safety and other compliance requirements, as well as Hilton brand standards and local policies and procedures. Embodies the property’s values through leading the People, Quality, Profit & Green KPIs.


Responsibilities and duties 

People 

  • Ensure effective onboarding process is in place for new starters
  • Ensure staff incentives are driven across the business
  • Ensure all HR policies are being adhered to across the business and provide guidance when / if required to Heads of Departments
  • Lead, manage and develop the on-property HOD-s and wider team members

Quality 

  • Drive SALT scores across business via Heads of Departments to ensure all benchmarks are met
  • Communicate and drive Curio Brand Standard requirements to Heads of Departments and ensure inspections are passed
  • Maintain property’s social site’s responses with the team, such as TripAdvisor, SALT, booking.com and other OTA.
  • Act as a central communication point during emergency / crisis situation and ensure these procedures are kept up to date
  • Prepare and submit statistical, performance and reports as required.
  • Ensure good daily communication within departments for efficient daily operations

Profit 

  • Ensure HOD-s are operating within their set budgets
  • Participate in preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans.
  • Use company systems and processes to maximise revenue
  • To assist with managing and control payroll in line with business levels
  • To ensure inventories and stock processes are in place and accurate e.g. food and beverage



Work Experience

About you

  • At least 2 years experience in a similar or senior HOD role in a minimum of 4* hotel environment. Experience with the Hilton brand is an advantage, but not essential. 
  • Strong understanding of F&B and Rooms division will be requirement in the role 
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience of developing and leading a team
  • Ability to create a collaborative, positive and motivated workforce driven to achieve company goals
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relation skills to ensure a seamless and memorable experience
  • Strong communication skills through a variety of means
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to stay calm under pressure, adapting your approach to complete routine and non-routine tasks
  • High attention to detail and accuracy – great at managing one’s own time and the time of the team
  • Financial and commercial awareness
