The team is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor. If you are a seasoned building engineer with hotel experience this is the perfect opportunity to join the team at Embassy Suites by Hilton Milpitas Silicon Valley. We have 267 guest rooms, 14 meeting rooms and 19,000 square feet of event space.
This role will be responsible for guiding a team and providing preventative maintenance for guest rooms, public space and back of the house areas but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and masonry to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.
Ideal candidates for this role will possess:
At least two (2) years of hotel maintenance experience.
Full availability to work AM PM and Overnight shifts including weekends and holidays.
Computer skills.
Classification: Full Time
Hourly Wage: $28.00
What will I be doing?
As Maintenance Supervisor, you would be responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the facility in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
· Supervises and performs the duties of the Property Operations/Engineering staff to maintain the physical functionality of facility: including guest rooms, public space, and heart-of-the-house areas.
· Make repairs involving painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC.
· Able to handle and assist preventative maintenance of hotel facilities.
· Be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect our guests and team members and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.
· Must be able to read, log, track and interpret reading from meters, gauges and other measuring units. Maintain a thorough log of each day’s activities and problems that occur and to ensure this information is passed on to other shifts.
· Must maintain professional demeanor and appearance under pressure while working on projects.
· Must be able to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours shift, able to constantly lift/move up to 10 pounds. Frequently lifting/moving up to 50 pounds might be necessary.
· Assists Director/Manager in training, supervising, scheduling, and evaluating department staff to include scheduling of staff and assisting with time edits in payroll.
· Ensures staff compliance with all safety/loss prevention standards and regulations.
· Assist with Safety & Security program, to include monthly trainings needed for Engineer team, assist with annual audits.
What are we looking for?
· Minimum of 2 years of experience as Engineering Supervisor/Manager/Lead Engineer at a similar size property
· Experience managing team members' schedule.
· Hotel maintenance background preferred.
· Technical knowledge required: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, swimming pool certified and refrigeration.
