Be a part of the newest luxury hotel in downtown LA, Conrad Los Angeles ! As part of the billion-dollar project, The Grand LA , this is the 7 th Conrad Hotel in the U.S. and the 1 st in California.
Located in the most exciting state-of-the-art development in DTLA, this luxurious 28-story hotel has over 300 rooms, a spa, 16,000 square foot rooftop with a pool deck, 12,000 square feet of event space, and 3 food and beverage outlets. This includes a signature restaurant, outdoor restaurant, lobby bar, and in-room dining all in partnership with Chef Jose Andres' award-wining restaurant group, JoseAndresFoodGroup .

In this role as an In Room Dining Order Taker, you will be responsible for answering the room service telephone and taking guests orders accurately in helpful, friendly, courteous and professional manner to ensure total guest satisfaction. Enters orders into computerized system and settles check upon delivery of the order.
The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations and service standards. Knowledge of all menu items and accompaniments. Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items. Knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate preparation methods, ability to comprehend written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel. Ability to operate a keyboard to input Point of Sale procedures to pre-check, input order and close out the check. Ability to bend, stoop, walk and lift/push/pull up to 20 pounds. Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays. Knowledge of FORBES standards is preferred. Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
What will I be doing?
· Promptly answer Room Service calls, announce any specials, promote menu items and answer questions regarding preparation methods.
· Document orders, repeat items back to callers to ensure accuracy and quote expected arrival time with speed and accuracy.
· Immediately input order information into point of sale system, allowing kitchen staff to begin preparation; note any special requests clearly. Give food server hard copy of check to be delivered with order.
· Processes payment for orders upon return of the Room Service Server.
· Complies with accounting guidelines regarding receipt of payments, check total verification, tip disbursement, cash drawer and house bank management. Maintains house bank in accordance with policy
· Answer calls for pick-up of trays and/or tables and direct bus persons to retrieve items.
· Respond to guest complaints in a positive manner, negotiate a compromise and implement solution.

The hourly rate is $25.27 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
